MUSIC WEEK: Cradle Rock
The folks at Cradle Rock sent me three CDs to review – the only three currently available in their collection. Cradle Rock is a series of children’s lullaby albums produced and created by Brash Music and Tree Top Records, which hit stores and digital distribution channels last October. Cradle Rock uses vibraphones, glockenspiels and mellotrons to turn iconic songs and albums by famous artists into naptime-friendly listening material. Sadly, the only three they have so far are from artists I can’t stand.
If you have a baby and are into country music or bad eighties pop, though, these may be for you: Michael Jackson, Kenny Chesney and Johnny Cash.
They’ve got plans for Black Eyed Peas, U2, Pink Floyd and more, which I’d be all over. Until then, I’ll leave the country twang for those who don’t feel like clawing their ears off when they hear it.
Check our Cradle Rock’s website for information about the upcoming releases.
