Remember Sade?
I barely did. Soldier of Love is only the sixth studio album the band Sade have released during their 25 year career, and the first since Lovers Rock in 2000. For Sade herself, as the lynchpin of the group’s songwriting effort, it’s a simple matter of integrity and authenticity. “I only make records when I feel I have something to say. I’m not interested in releasing music just for the sake of selling something. Sade is not a brand.”
Soldier of Love was released last week, just in time for Valentine’s Day. It contains ten tracks that all flow together seamlessly. It’s beautiful music through and though, carrying the theme that love can and does conquer all. You can listen to a couple of tracks that are streaming at inmusic.ca.

SADE WAS ON CONTINUOUS REPEAT THROUGHOUT MY ENTIRE PREGNANCY AND EVEN WHILE I WAS IN LABOR…SHE DID MORE THAN JUST RELAX ME…WITHOUT HER SOOTHING VOICE, MY EXPERIENCE WOULDN’T HAVE BEEN THE SAME!
