Pop Fly Hits a Home Run
It’s music week here at TOP, where I’m sharing with you the best of the CD’s we’ve added to our collection over the past few months. Not only will I spare you the ones we didn’t enjoy but you’ll have a chance to win the good ones!
I’m not much of a music critic – just a mama whose children love to boogie and who is easily annoyed. I tend to put CD’s that arrive for review in my van or stereo CD changer and listen to them on rotation for months before I remember to write anything about them. Because I find them difficult to write about, CD’s don’t fall into my review schedule like other reviewed items do. It can take me hours to write just a paragraph when it comes to music. I never intended this site to feature any music (it just didn’t occur to me), but I’m really enjoying it and hope you get some ideas to freshen your collection from the ones I decide to share with you. Even if it takes me a while to do so.
Justin Roberts’ new release Pop Fly ($15 from his shop) had been and will continue to be a regular around here. I love that it’s real music – not dumbed down or simplified – and the lyrics are easily enjoyed by kids and parents alike. The target age is 3-8 but my two year old and my ten year old niece both love this CD. It’s terrific from start to finish, and comes highly recommended by my little baseball star who is constantly singing while he plays with his pitching machine in the back yard…

We hav XM Satellite radio, and whenever this song comes on, my 3 year old loves to sing along loudly. Even my teenager thinks it’s kind of cute. I would love to own this so we can enjoy all of the songs.
