The Jimmies – Nary a Dull Road Trip in Your Future
I hate road trips. I love the concept and I love holidays once we get there, but I hate sitting still in an enclosed space for more than 15 minutes. Listening to horrid kid tunes makes an average road trip unbearable. Listening to The Jimmies, though, turns a crappy car ride into a party!
The NY based band has released their debut CD Make Your Own Someday – Silly Songs for the Shorter Set and it’s a HUGE hit with my family and every kid who has been around when it’s been blasting the speakers. Even my husband loves it, primarily because the band members obviously have a wicked sense of humour and love what they’re doing. The lyrics are hilarious and yet totally kid/family appropriate. They’re a little above my two year old’s head but he loves it regardless. We all do. Get yours at GimmeJimmies or CD Baby – listen for the hidden track about boogers. You’ll laugh your butt off.

Ok, anything that would turn a crappy car ride into a party is worth listening to!!! I went a got a listen. It’s perfect for all ages. My 8 year old would think he was being cool without some nasty lyrics. This is fun for all of us.

Wow! I have never heard The Jimmies before. My kids would love this CD. My kids and I are famous for listening to children’s songs when we travel. This CD is a must-have!

Their videos are awesome too. Several are on YouTube, and also on their site. Bedhead is my daughter’s favorite song, but I have only bought a couple of songs individually. We would love to have the whole CD.

Our family already LOVES The Jimmies! But I’d love to get another CD- as it’s my favorite thing to give out as a birthday present. They have a really cute birthday song on this album that we all sing now and they sing another birthday song at their live concert that’s so awesome- I can’t wait for it to come out on CD! This looks like a fantastic cd. No, a grand cd. I am tired of listening to My Little Pony Christmas dvd during the summer months as we drive down the interstate. I don’t know what’s worse. The dvd or the twins arguing. A trip is in the horizon and I hope to have this cd.
