Clarks Fall 2008 Line – Colour Us Impressed
It feels a little silly telling you about a brand like Clarks. Everyone knows Clarks, right? They’re super well made, long-lasting, stylish & reasonably priced shoes that are available in mid-range shoe stores and their own branded stores internationally. I’ve been wearing Clarks for years and they’re fabulous for my old lady orthotic-wearing feet. The T.O.P. crew had a sneak peek at the upcoming Fall 2008 line and are pleased to let you know that they’re as fabulous as ever.
Clarks offers adults’ original styles and now kids styles which we reviewed before their North American launch. Read on for our opinions about some kicks from the Fall ‘08 line in both originals and kids styles.
Parnell says: My son and I each received a pair of the new Clarks fall line for review. I got the Grill style and my son chose the Wibble. (Ed: Top two pairs pictured at right.) At first glance both pairs were stylish, soft & rich looking, but the true test came when we ventured out for a walk around the neighbourhood. I am not cheap when it comes to shoes, but due to the active nature of my job I spend most of my day in running shoes that are dark coloured enough to look not-quite-like-runners. They’re usually a pair of Nike’s from the local sporting goods store and they’re comfortable enough. However, from the time I stepped out in my new Clarks I was a changed man. I’m a convert. My Grill shoes are easy to slip on and off (no more wrecked heels, because I never untie my runners anyway) and are the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever owned. You can tell you’re wearing quality footwear immediately. My son loves his Wibbles too. He ran blocks upon blocks and said they were still comfortable. They’re cute as anything too – not that cuteness is important to manly men like us.
Nicole says: Is there anything cuter than the boots at the bottom of that picture over there? My daughter’s first pair of winter boots are officially more fashionable than anything I’ve ever owned. They’re the Crystal style from the upcoming Fall ‘08 Clarks line and they’re enough to make you melt as soon as they come out of the box.
Many children spend hours upon hours each day in their shoes. With over 250,000 sweat glands in each foot, they can produce more than an egg cupful of perspiration every day, as you’re very aware if you have a teenage son. The quality leather in Clarks footwear breathes to let air in and moisture out helping your child’s feet stay healthy and cool all day.
Quality shoes are incredibly important but it’s even more important that those shoes fit well. Clarks stores offer free fit checks to help ensure that your child always has a shoe that fits properly. Granted, they’re more costly than the shoes you can buy at your local discount store but you get what you pay for. Clarks prices are totally reasonable and your feet will thank you.
