Leonardo is Makin’ Waves
If you love someone with Down Syndrome, October is a very special month. It’s Down Syndrome Awareness Month, and indie musician Leonardo will be releasing his second kids’ CD, ‘Makin’ Waves’, on October 21. Throughout his career, Leonardo has been a musical advocate for children with special needs. Inspired by his younger brother, Mario (who, despite having Down syndrome and autism, has led a beautiful and productive life) Leonardo devotes a significant portion of his time to performing at camps and fundraisers for special needs kids and writing empowering songs dedicated to them.
I highly recommend that you take a few minutes to watch this inspiring news story about Leonardo and his involvement in the Down Syndrome & special needs community.
All of his CD’s are super inexpensive and if they sound anything like ‘Makin’ Waves’ they’re worth every penny and more.
Throughout ‘Makin’ Waves,’ Leonardo combines a ton of positive & life affirming messages that parents want to pass on to their children to create lyrics for the littles that are full of life & the loving of it. He uses enough repetition to keep the kids singing along with him but not so much as to annoy the big people that can reach the play button. With a Beachboys-esque sound and a backup chorus of kids with Down Syndrome, it’s a great CD with no distracting background clutter and a lot of great, fun music.
