That’s my two year old son’s debut at The Opinionated Parent.
As he’d say…”Ta dah!”
I’ve never posted any of my kids here before, but he just looked so cute in his stars birthday tee from Tote and Tee that I couldn’t resist!
The nifty tees at mom-owned Tote and Tee are so incredibly awesome I’m almost speechless. That could also be the cuteness of my kid rendering me so, but nevertheless…
Designer Amy Trusler hand makes each tee in her own home. They’re available in a huge variety of colours and styles and the amazing array of fabrics can be applied in any letter or number to suit the little people in your life. Too bad it’s not cool to advertise “32!” because I’d totally do it if I could get away with it. (I’d look good in this style!)
They also carry the cutest (and softest – -wow soft!) knee socks and tights I’ve ever seen. The socks have a slight roll down at the top so there’s no digging in but they’re just tight enough to stay up.
And these personalized lunchboxes? (The “tote” part of Tote and Tee.) To die for. Figuratively, of course. (I think this one would look great with my imaginary “32″ tee. Alright. I’ll stop now.)

I am a teacher so it goes without saying that every year toward the end of August I begin to get really excited about a new school year. This coming September, however, will be a little different. My son will be heading to kindergarten. I can’t quite believe that we have arrived at this season of life already (I can still remember tracking my pregnancy month by month and journaling to my unborn child as we journeyed together through nine months of pregnancy.) My son is shy and hesitant; a typical “first-born child” who likes to lead and be in control but at the same time isn’t always at ease in social situations. He likes to be able to “keep tabs” on his things (I have just about worn-out my second label-maker and am a regular customer of Mabel’s Labels.) I discovered the personalised totes at the recommendation of a friend and immediately thought of my son. Though it may sound like a simple and superfluous notion to some, I know for him it would mean the world to know that he had “his stuff” with him and that no one could possibly mistake it for their own.

socks would be what I’d buy. My girls wear the same size and are always fighting over who’s socks are who’s and fighting for the cutsie little socks I buy them. I’d hit the sale items and buy as many pair of socks as I could.
