Mother’s Day Find – Pretty Technology

sandisk cruzer gator reviewIn decades past, if you gave most mothers a piece of computer equipment for Mother’s Day you would have been in the doghouse for weeks. Not anymore.

We’ve got the perfect gift for the tech-savvy yet fashionable mama.

The Cruzer Gator is a flash drive adorned with stylish mock alligator skin. It’s available in three great colours and comes in 2 GB (pink), 4 GB (red) and 8 GB (black) capacities.

But what’s style without function? The Cruzer Gator has some fantastic features. I particularly love the password protected access control. Now we can safely store our data without worrying what someone may do with it should we misplace it.

Want to show off pictures of your kids at work? Take home videos to Grandma’s house? The Cruzer Gator is a suitcase of memories that fits in your purse and is lighter than your lipstick.

It also allows you to take your files plus U3™ compatible PC programs wherever you go, with no PC installation required. Never tried U3? You will love it! With a U3 smart drive – like the Cruzer Gator – you can plug your into any PC and work, play a game, message friends, send email, edit photos and more. A U3 smart drive makes any PC your own PC. And when you unplug it, it leaves no personal data behind. For a busy mom, that’s simply awesome.

Win it! We’re giving away a 2 GB pink and a 4 GB red Cruzer Gator to two winners. To enter, leave a comment with your favourite Mother’s Day memory. Contest closes on Mother’s Day – May 11, 2008.

Well, my mom’s birthday often falls on Mother’s Day, so my favorite memories are when we celebrate twice on the same day – once for her birthday and once for Mother’s Day so she doesn’t feel short-changed.

Last year at Mothers’ Day, I was getting pretty pregnant (had my daughter in July), and had just finished helping my husband through knee surgery. How happy was I to find an email card from my daughter (who was still in utero :D ). Hubby did what he could, from the couch, for my first Mothers’ Day :)

My favorite Mom’s day memory is from my own childhood. One year, when I was still pretty little, I walked many blocks up to a florist to try to buy flowers for my mom. I didn’t have hardly any money, but the man in the shop was so kind. He sold me a gorgeous bouquet in a silver bowl for my mom for what must have been a very very small price. I still remember his kindness and the smile that my mom wore when I presented her with the flowers.

My favorite mothers day memory is when I was 13. My sister and I were sick with the flu, so my mother had to take care of us on her day. I felt so bad for her that the next day, me and my sister made her “breakfast,” we took our stuffed animals and put them on the side of the bed. We took a sheet of paper and wrote “Happy Mom Day. Thank you for not giving us Nyquil.” We hated the liquid Nyquil, and she knew she wouldn’t get us to take it. :)

My best Mother’s Day memory is when my little sister and I were about 11 and 4, and we made my mom’s mother’s day breakfast in bed!! It was soo gross!!! I think we actually took bologna and fried it with butter (don’t ask)! and made some nasty coffee and brought it to mom!! She couldn’t wait for us to leave the room and throw it away!! I always make sure my own kids don’t get the idea to make me breakfast!!!

My husband got a babysitter, took me to the MAC counter at Macy’s and had them do my makeup. He took a big interest in it and helped choose different things for them to try on me. Then he bought me a bunch of the makeup they had put on me. We had a great day together and had a lot of fun playing in the makeup.

My favorite Mother’s Day was the year my mom said that all she wanted as a gift that day was peace and love. I was pretty young at the time so I went ahead and cut out a dove for peace and a heart for love out of paper. I wrapped them up in the fanciest Christmas paper I could find. I was so excited to give my mom exactly what she wanted and she was certainly surprised.

My favorite mother’s day memory was 12 years ago when I was 17 years old and there were 3 generations of us, my grandmother, my mother and myself all cooking a traditional Greek feast together for the entire family! It wasn’t work at all, it was so much fun. My grandmother was 100% Greek and was teaching my mother and I how to roll dolmathes (stuff grape leaves). It was a special afternoon which I will never forget. That was the last time the 3 of us ever cooked together, my grandmother died before the following Mothers Day. The laughing and joking around that we did that day, and the love that we all shared during that cooking experience literally changed me and was one of my life’s most memorable experiences. Thank you for the opportunity for me to share with you all my story!

Hmmm, how to narrow it down . . . I love that this morning my girls went out & picked dandelions and mint leaves (so we can take mint with us to the new house, mommy) for me, then helped their Daddy make me blueberry pancakes :)

I can’t remember a particular Mother’s Day. I’m with her all the time and our moments are special of just chatting and going out to dinner, etc! :)

One of my favorite Mothers Day memories had to be my mother sisters and I all working together on my grandmothers flower gardens on her last Mothers Day. We all worked together, laughed together, ate together and celebrated together.

She look like a million dollars.

My favorite memory was when my six year old decided to bring me a slice of strawberry cake after our Mother’s Day dinner. He was walking along and kind of tripped and dropped the cake. Quick as he could he grabbed it up, plopped it back on t
