The Hot Mom-To-Be Handbook. (Not that our readers need a handbook to be hot, of course.)
If you’re like me, the excitement of that little plus sign was soon replaced with questions…lots and lots of questions. From how to deal with round-the-clock nausea, to how I was going to find an outfit for my shower that wouldn’t make me look like a beached whale; my mind was racing. I asked my mom, my friends, my mom’s friends…anyone who had experience was fair game. As a fashion-conscious woman, I was concerned with looking my best during my pregnancy. I wanted to radiate the joy I felt over the life that was growing inside me.
If you’re pregnant today, you know that books on pregnancy abound. Last time I checked Amazon, I saw over 100,000 books on pregnancy! A majority of these books educate moms-to-be on everything from dealing with common pregnancy discomforts to breathing your way through labor pain. I have yet to read a pregnancy book as unique, uplifting, and down-to-earth as The Hot Mom To Be Handbook: Womb With a View. Jessica Denay, author and founder of the Hot Moms Club provides advice to pregnant women on embracing their beauty and confidence as a mom while retaining their sense of self. This is THE book for pregnant moms who want practical, attainable tips that will help them look and feel like the hot mama they are all pregnancy long!
The Hot Mom To Be Handbook reads like a conversation with your best girlfriend.
Each chapter corresponds to the 9 months of gestating. Jessica Denay compiles her experience as a mom along with that of other hot moms to provide suggestions and advice on everything from engaging your inner calm to maintaining your sense of humor throughout your pregnancy. Above all I love how she empowers women to trust their maternal instincts and intuition about themselves and their growing babies.
My favorite aspect of the book is the journal questions at the end of each chapter. They motivate and encourage moms to creatively reflect and document the various aspects of their pregnancy that are threatened to be lost once sleep deprivation sets in. The Hot Mom to Be Handbook is filled with inspirational quotes, satirical narratives, and innovative resources. You’ll laugh as you relate to other moms. Sit down with this fun, light-hearted informational book written from one mom to another and embrace the hot mama that you are! - Caryn
I could easily summarize what I feel after reading this book in one sitting: I wish I read this before I got pregnant 5 years ago!
The Hot Mom To Be Handbook, Womb with a View by Jessica Denay made me laugh at the funny analogies, got me teary eyed with the heart-warming stories and had me nodding and nodding remembering all the hilarious old wives tales and scary birth stories I was told when I was pregnant. Thanks to books like these, today’s moms are stronger, sexier, more confident and smarter than ever.
I have also learned that moms should not abandon their personal goals, fulfillments and fashion just because they have children. I admit I had been neglecting myself thinking that all those things (including fashion!) pale in comparison to my child’s needs and desires. Now, five years after giving birth, I am ready to reclaim the fun and improve my outer appearance. I do want to be a hot mom! - Grace

i dont know if “hot” described my pregnancy…unless you count the hottest summer in 50 years! i had a great pregnancy and felt great…but the second trimester is certainly the best – looking the cutest, perfect sized and portioned baby bumb, no morning sickness, no pre labour pains….then comes the third!! hopefully all three are great for me this time! sounds like a great book and i cant wait to read it!!

MY pregnancy has sucked so far. Been vomiting alot. Hoping it will go away soon. This problem could cause people not to want to have any more children.

My daughter is 2 now, and I had alot of morning sickness when I was preggos. I have a sensitive stomach in the first place and being preggos didn’t help. It was the worst around 3 months pregnancy, but I had trouble keeping food down throughout the pregnancy. Great giveaway, thanks!

Being pregnant for me was scary, exciting and nerve racking all rooled into one small package.
April 24th, 2008 at 10:25 am
Both my pregnancies I felt like a blimp, and the only ‘hot’ I felt was the sweaty kind! I’m working on getting the old me back now, though, and would love to be a ‘hot’ mom!

All I can say is I am glad it’s all over and I have my beautiful baby!!!

I loved being pregnant! I’m always hot!
April 24th, 2008 at 12:41 pm
I had severe morning sickness with all three of my kids. If throwing up in your hair multiple times a day was hot, then I was smokin’!
April 24th, 2008 at 12:51 pm
I LOVED being pregnant! I loved the attention and felt HOT! I can’t wait to be pregnant again soon! I’d love to have this book to help me!

I did NOT feel hot. I had terrible morning sickness, backaches, etc. But I have three perfect kids so it’s all worth it!
April 25th, 2008 at 5:22 am
I can’t say I felt like a hot mama, my husband and I had problems during that time so it was a hard time for me, but I loved being pregnant. We have overcome our difficulties and are trying for #2…I would LOVE this book!
April 25th, 2008 at 7:15 am
My first two pregnancies were different in many ways, but I definitely felt most sexy both times during the second trimester and the start of the third. I raid the sale racks at maternity sores, dress cute, am able to eat well and my hubby thinks I’m a hottie. I just started my third pregnancy (um, SURPRISE) and so far the nausea isn’t horrible, so I am feeling good right now
April 25th, 2008 at 9:43 am
We are about to try for #1.
I am the type to want to be well-read on the topic of pregnancy, so I’d love to get my hands on this!

During my first pregnancy I did aerobics at the local gym until 8 months and felt great. I never thought I looked good in yoga pants, until I was pregnant. Something about that stomach sticking out, made the stretch pants actually look good on me for once.
April 25th, 2008 at 11:30 am
I was pretty sick during both of them…so I wasn’t exactly hot…but my wonderful husband helped me all the way…and I had 2 wonderful healthy kids…
April 25th, 2008 at 2:18 pm
hmmm…not hot…but super big and bigger.
April 25th, 2008 at 4:44 pm
I just recently gave birth to my 5th & last baby boy. I love/loved being pregnant! I am already sad that I won’t get to feel baby movements anymore, or not having to “share” the baby with anyone else. My first 4 were hot in the sense that I gave birth to them at the end of summer.
April 25th, 2008 at 8:03 pm
I had crappy pregnancies. Sick a lot, tons of pain. I almost died with my first & my 2nd caused me to have a sensitive uterus according to the dr. To me that meant extreme & utter pain, ugh! I’d love to feel hot again, count me in.

I definitely didn’t feel hot during my pregnancy. Not only was I literally COLD the whole time, I felt incredibly unsexy. All those new stretch marks will do that to a woman.
April 27th, 2008 at 11:18 am
LOL, I’m preggo right now, 5 months exactly today! Umm.. I feel pregnant, my hubby says I’m hot but I don’t feel like it.
I’ve been blessed with not having much morning sickness, never even yacked once and this is my 3rd child! I’ve had 2 great c-sections previously, I’m a bit more nervous about the 3rd, but I’m not due until September.
I love being preggo though, because I know that I’m about to bring another little blessing into our life and that’s all that matters!
April 27th, 2008 at 11:20 am
I had an easy pregnancy (thank goodness) and am looking forward to the next one! The only thing that sucked was all the fear-mongering by the media – constant “eat this, not that” and articles basically blaming mothers for everything…or at least that is how it felt.
April 27th, 2008 at 12:46 pm
I felt pretty hot for my first two trimesters. I worked out hard and ate cleanly. I liked my new curves. But then….. I blew up like a tick in my third trimester and I remember feeling not-so-hot. The funny thing is that during my delivery I kept envisioning myself with my pre-prego body. I convinced myself that I was still strong and sexy. I think I may have even flirted with my doc!!! It’s so laughable now that I look back at photos of that “not so hot girl” day.
April 27th, 2008 at 5:50 pm
No I did NOT feel hot at all. I felt fat, and grumpy and hot, and had morning sickness and everything. Nothing would fit and all the maternity pants were too short for me. I was sure after having the baby I would just turn back into who I was before hand and that was not even close. So it would be nice to feel somewhat hot again. I would enjoy reading this as well as letting other preggo friends know about it! Thanks for the giveaway!

Hmmm….hot mom? Tough one, but when i was preggie, my mom would ALWAYS ask me how much weight I’ve gained (as if she was noticing all the pounds I was putting on). BUT!! I didn’t mind the occasional “You can’t even tell you’re pregnant from behind!” from other friends and family!
April 28th, 2008 at 2:05 pm
So far, so good. I have gained more weight than I thought I would (who doesn’t). I just started getting to the point where my back starts hurting at the end of the day. Sleep is not so great, but the fact that me and the peanut inside are healthy make up for everything.
April 28th, 2008 at 6:36 pm
Both of my pregnancies were fairly ‘normal’ although the second time around I was way more moodier than with the first. I gained a ton of weight the first time, and a normal amount the second time, but overall can’t complain! Both my kids were born early, happy and healthy!

Hmmm, three pregnancies, and I didn’t feel “hot” at all (although I was definitely hot for 2 of them during a few miserable summer months!!)
The excitement, anticipation, and end result make those 9 months so worth it, though…even if I didn’t feel attractive, I was always uncomfortable, and I was utterly emotional!
April 28th, 2008 at 8:08 pm
My pregnancy was simply wonderful!!!!! The call it ADOPTION!!!!!!!!! Don’t Forget US!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I did not feel like a “hot mama” when I was pregnant. I just felt…frumpy! I bet this book would be great! We’re hoping for baby #2 in the near future.

Other than the last two months I really enjoyed being pregant.. it was the first time ever that being “chubby” was ok.. lol I also really enjoyed the stomach.. surprisingly.
The only thing I did hate was when I started to swell all over and it became super uncomfortable to sleep, lay down, walk.. whatever.. I felt worthless and helpless for a few weeks there.

I felt like crap in the latter part of the first and the third trimester. In the second trimester, when my bump finally developed, I felt pretty hot… but as it got bigger and bigger and the numbers on the scale went up and up, clothing options went down, and I just wanted it to be over and to be a non-pregnant woman again!
April 29th, 2008 at 9:01 pm
I haven’t gotten pregnant yet. I hope to be soon, but I’d like to read the book before I get preg! : ) My really close friends had difficult pregnancies and they certainly did not feel “hot” in THAT sense…they were just sweating!
April 30th, 2008 at 3:35 am
I’m getting excited to start wearing maternity clothes! You can finally tell I’m pregnant and not just gaining weight.

I want to give this as a gift to a friend of mine who is currently pregnant and having a really hard time. She’s had bad sciatica, RLS, and nausea from day one and now a few weeks into her second trimester it’s still not going away!
She is definitely not feeling hot, so this book might help her out.
