Dog On Fleas
I’ve been listening to the Dog On Fleas CD in my living room for a couple of weeks and I must say that it’s been a fabulous addition to our collection. My music loving toddler runs to the stereo many mornings, grabs “When I Get Little” and shouts “Dance! Dance!”
It’s a great combination of styles and is completely original. The tunes are very intelligently written – a quality not always found on CD’s geared toward children. I knew it was good when I found myself walking the halls at work singing “When I get little, I’m gonna be a boy…” and wasn’t annoyed that it was stuck in my head. A very enjoyable CD!

One of the talented Dog On Fleas artists, Dean Jones, has recently released his first solo album called Napper’s Delight that we’ve also been enjoying – though not at nap time. This is anything but a traditional lullaby collection. Dean combines a variety of instruments that you might not expect to hear on the same album (like the traditional African balafon and a drum machine) and his songs seem more like “music to chill out with the kids to” than stuff that would put you to sleep. I recommend that you listen to it before nap time while you snuggle and simply enjoy each other.
