Eric Herman Rocks
Are you getting a little bit sick of your kids’ music? As a teacher and a mother, I listen to kids music all day, every day. At home, in the van, at playdates and in my classroom. It gets a little bit a lot sickening after a while.
That’s why I love Clea Hantman’s blog (sm)All Ages, where she shares her picks for kid-friendly adult tunes. As a roundabout way of introduction, I left her a comment recently about being sick of kids music and that was followed by an email from her offering to send me some of the CD’s she hates but would be appropriate for my classroom, and then an email from a man named Eric Herman (see his blog). Eric kindly offered to send me all three of his CD’s (and he didn’t even know at the time that I write a review blog ~ now that’s kindness!)
His site Eric Herman Music gives the impression that both he and his music are super fun. I’d have to say that the impression is accurate!
I know you would like to sample his delightful style, so from his home page, you can Listen to the complete song “Cowboy Bergaleoukaleopaleous” from his album Snow Day. Samples from all three of his CD’s are available here.
Then you can head over to the video page and watch the videos for The Elephant Song (my favourite!) and Crazy Over Vegetables.
Eric was awarded the “best solo performer” award in Buffalo, NY before he hooked up with his band. Heh.
This is one talented man. Not only does he make amazingly cool tunes for kids, but he’s even composed a symphonic piece.
I (and my son and even my husband!) am totally enjoying Eric’s CD’s and I have faith that you will too ~ even if you’re sick of the usual kids’ music! Buy them here.
